: Contemporary school management has been challenged to articulate organizational practices and educational purposes within increasingly complex institutional contexts. In this scenario, strategic alignment has been incorporated as a means of organizing school actions, although its application in the educational field requires contextual adaptations. This study aims to analyze the application of strategic alignment in the management of a faith-based basic education institution, seeking to understand the conditions under which this approach becomes meaningful in the school context. A qualitative approach was adopted, based on a case study design, including semi-structured interviews, discussion groups, and analysis of institutional documents. Data were examined through thematic categorization procedures, allowing the identification of analytical axes related to different understandings of strategic alignment, tensions between pedagogical and administrative dimensions, and limitations in the use of performance indicators. The findings suggest that, in the investigated context, strategic alignment does not operate as a fixed technical model, but rather as a situated construction, dependent on mediation, participation, and adaptation to the specificities of the school environment. It is concluded that its contribution to school management lies in its potential to foster institutional coherence, provided that it is aligned with participatory practices and guided by educational purposes.
