This paper discusses the use of assistive technology as a fundamental tool for promoting inclusion in the school environment. It begins by questioning what assistive technology is and its importance in education. The study highlights that teacher training is essential so that these professionals can apply the available resources safely and sensitively in order to ensure the learning of all students, especially those with disabilities. It addresses the different categories of low- and high-cost assistive technologies, as well as their uses and limitations in the educational context. It also proposes to education professionals how to use each resource in the classroom or in the multifunctional resource room, with training and courses to help achieve equity in teaching. It also discusses the impacts that the presence of these resources in the classroom contributes to more accessible, participatory teaching focused on the student's integral development. The qualitative and bibliographic research sought to understand how the use of assistive technology can enhance learning and promote more meaningful interactions in the school environment. The results indicate that, when properly applied, assistive technology expands pedagogical possibilities, strengthens inclusion, and contributes to more equitable and humanized teaching. Therefore, the entire teaching staff of the school team, including assistants and caregivers, should receive training focused on assistive technology to improve the academic development of students with disabilities and put the use of materials into practice, with an emphasis on autonomy and learning.
