Abstract

The present study analyzes the importance of financial education as part of the high school curriculum, focusing on a school located in the Recôncavo region of Bahia. In a context of globalization and increasing ease of consumption, a rise in indebtedness among young people has been observed, highlighting the urgent need for greater knowledge of financial management. A quantitative and qualitative study was conducted with students from Colégio Adventista da Bahia, involving around one hundred (100) participants. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, addressing students' perceptions of their financial practices and the relevance of financial education in their lives.

Graduado em Ciências Contábeis (2024) pela Faculdade Adventista da Bahia (Fadba). Já desempenhou a função de frentista pela Comercial de Combustíveis Eirelli, onde adquiriu experiência em controle de estoques e fechamento de caixa (2019 - 2020). Foi estagiário no setor Customer Relationship Management (CRM), na Central de Atendimento da Fadba (2021 - 2023) no assessoramento e no processo de captação, aproximação e fidelização do cliente com a instituição. Desempenhou a função de Assistente Administrativo na Faculdade Adventista da Bahia (Fadba), onde esteve lotado no departamento de Finanças (2023 - 2024). Atualmente atua como auxiliar contábil na União Leste Brasileira da Igreja Adventista do Sétimo Dia (ULB).
