The increase in crime has been one of the major problems faced by Brazilian civil society in the last 3 decades. This violence ends up victimizing mostly young black people from the periphery who end up aligning themselves with gangs due to lack of perspective and social opportunity. Thus, it is necessary to guide education as a path not only to criminality in the national territory, but as a way to maintain the integrity of the black population and the opportunity for this majority portion of society to have access to better living conditions. The problem raised in this work can be summarized by the following question: can an anti-racist education mitigate the racial violence suffered by the black population? The result of the work points to the need to build an effective educational system that gives the black population the opportunity to find new horizons and escape from crime.
