Finally, a study was carried out on the pandemic caused by COVID-19 in Brazil, and on actions taken by the federal government in order to contain the impacts on social inequality and unemployment. The purpose of this article is to answer the following question: “Has the government adopted measures that have made it possible to reduce the impact on social inequality and unemployment in the context of the pandemic caused by COVID-19?”. Our hypothesis is that the government is effective in combating social inequality and unemployment in the context of the pandemic caused by COVID-19 in Brazil. The research method used was mixed, through bibliographic sources. After an investigation, it was found that although the government has presented effective acts in combating the pandemic caused by COVID-19 in Brazil between the years 2020 and the first quarter of 2021, the scope for reducing social inequality and unemployment be shy, given the situations that converged to such a result.
