Abstract

Digital Transformation (DT) has been highlighted as a hot topic in
academic and professional circles. Basically, it is a process that
aims to improve an entity, with significant changes in its structure

and the assistance of digital technologies, in order to maintain the
competitiveness of companies in a scenario of constant change. In
this way, the objective of the work was to examine the research
carried out within the scope of DT, through a study bibliometric.
The study used the Scopus bibliographic database for data
collection. The datas were analyzed according to: 1) thematic areas;
2) authors; 3) affiliations; 4) keywords; 5) most cited articles; 6)
publication period; and 7) sources – also following the three main
bibliometric laws (Lotka's Law, Bradford's Law and Zipf's Law).
The study made it possible to identify that publications have been
carried out with greater intensity in the areas of Social Sciences;
Business, Management and Accounting; Computer Science; and
Engineering. In addition to the rapid growth of number of
published research on TD, as well as being associated with the
different stages of TD, as well as its relationship with Industry 4.0
and Innovation. It is suggested for future research a deeper and
more careful analysis of the different themes and subjects covered
in DT.
