FIRST AID MEASURES:
INTERVENTION WITH ADOLESCENTS AT A PUBLIC SCHOOL

Knowledge about the practice of first aid is essential, especially in the school context, where students will be able to acquire autonomy by providing first aid to accident victims, even before the arrival of the specialized professional service. The present study seeks to present the experience of students of the Nursing course at Faculdade Adventista da Bahia (FADBA) when developing the Professional Development Project (PDP) in a university extension format, on health education with an emphasis on First Aid. The target audience of the project was pre-adolescents and adolescents, between 12 and 16 years old, students from a school in the municipal education network in the municipality of Cachoeira, Bahia. After a bibliographical survey in the literature and preparation of support material by the academics, training was carried out with the help of cards with questions related to the theme and plates with the alternatives. The training was carried out in the school environment, at the end of the meetings, the students' satisfaction with the learning that will be useful in their daily lives and that can be applied in all contexts of their lives was perceptible. It is concluded that the practice of health education is possible for everyone in society in order to be able to provide efficient care in the face of an emergency.
