Resumo

Este artigo tem como objetivo avaliar, numa perspectiva adventista, a trajetória hermenêutica que levou Mateus a citar a frase do profeta Oseias “do Egito chamei meu filho” e aplicá-la a Jesus (Mt 2:15). Por meio da análise exegética e teológica de textos bíblicos, bem como de pesquisa bibliográfica, esta pesquisa pretende descobrir se Mateus praticou algum exercício de hermenêutica ou apenas fez uma “eisegese” inspirada ao citar o profeta Oseias. Ao final, este artigo fará uma reflexão a respeito das implicações do exemplo de Mateus para a hermenêutica adventista.
