Biostatistics plays a crucial role in the field of healthcare, encompassing data collection, analysis, medical research, healthcare provision, and the development of health policies. It utilizes statistical inference to generalize findings from samples to larger populations, with a specific focus on epidemiology. It is vital to distinguish between the target population and the study population. Biostatistics involves sample selection, analysis of sample variation, hypothesis testing, and the evaluation of statistical significance. Emphasizing proper documentation, it includes the choice of sampling methods, such as random sampling. Data organization and analysis encompass measures of central tendency, measures of dispersion, assessments of normality, and distribution standardization. Additionally, it references binomial and Poisson distributions. These aspects are indispensable for biomedical research and data analysis. Therefore, the aim of this study is to review the applications of biostatistics in clinical practice, emphasizing the importance of understanding biostatistics in advancing the medical field, significantly influencing healthcare quality and research.
